Welcome to Beijing!
April 19, 2025Highlights of Visit to Singapore
April 19, 2025Using the Swimming Pool at Changi Airport, Singapore
I had the opportunity to try the swimming pool when I had a layover in Changi last week. The pool is very accessible. Even if you have a two-hour layover, it is worth visiting the pool. The pool is in terminal 1. You can use the sky train which runs every few minutes. Once the train drops you, you will see a sign to the swimming pool, it is located just one level up and accessed through an escalator.
I got to the pool around 10:30 PM. It does close at 11:30 PM. The admission fee is SGN $17. They were about 4 other people that arrived at the same time as me. In all, we were just about 5 people in the pool, not crowded for a big pool. It is not a hot pool but the water is comfortable even at night. The hot tub was a warm water tub. Perhaps it was because of the time of the day or they just forgot to turn it on. I was really looking forward to a good soak before a six-hour flight.
You receive one towel to help you dry out. Towels are soft and made of good quality cotton. There are bath soap dispensers available in the showers. Water pressure from the showers is good. I was able to take a long hot shower since the hot tub was not working. There are lockers in the dress rooms. Lockers are big enough that they held my carry-on bag and a briefcase. Lockers have keys but you have to request a key at the pool’s check-in desk.
The poolside bar sells drinks and there are relaxing and comfortable chairs you can just sit and watch planes take off.
I definitely enjoyed my time using this pool. I wish all major airports would offer something like this. My hour in the pool was worth the SGN $17 I paid. I felt relaxed and refreshed before my flight. Miss you Changi!
